Calm, solution-oriented, and focused on results – Manuel at MIXACO

You can recognize some people by their calm demeanor. Manuel is one of them. He doesn’t shy away from challenges—on the contrary: he embraces them and, with patience and a clear focus on the outcome, finds a way to solve them. This attitude has been a constant since he started at MIXACO, and it has shaped his career to this day.

A journey that has never stood still

It all started quite practically: After finishing middle school, Manuel completed an apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician in special-purpose machine construction and then remained in the field for two more years as a skilled technician. Even back then, it was clear to him that mechanical engineering would be his future. In 2018, he therefore made a deliberate move to MIXACO, an environment where he could further develop his technical skills.

And that’s exactly what he did, time and time again. While working, Manuel earned his vocational diploma in electrical engineering through a distance-learning program, continued his studies while working, took on a part-time job at MIXACO for a while, and eventually returned as an electrical engineer. Today, he works in R&D and is studying hard for his master’s degree in electrical engineering on the side. Anyone who thinks a path like this must be stressful and frantic doesn’t know Manuel yet. With him, it seems more like a logical, calm sequence of decisions, each made out of conviction.

From software code to the machine at the customer’s site

As an electrical engineer in R&D, Manuel’s day-to-day work today focuses primarily on software solutions for our machines. But he doesn’t always stay at his desk: Occasionally, he heads straight to a customer’s site to commission machines on-site and see how what he’s been working on in the office actually performs.

What excites him most is the phase in which an idea becomes something tangible: developing it collaboratively, implementing it step by step, and ultimately holding a visible result in his hands. For Manuel, a project is never simply technically complete. It’s only finished when the result truly meets the client’s expectations—a standard that makes his work so valuable.

When Development Becomes a Journey

What Manuel particularly appreciates about his work is the variety: technology, teamwork, travel, and constantly new challenges. No two projects are alike, and that’s exactly what keeps his day-to-day work exciting.

One project in particular has stuck with him: the development of the bonder and its commissioning in China. It is precisely this kind of experience that shows him how development work, team spirit, and technical dedication ultimately result in something tangible—something that makes a real difference.

Anyone who gets so much done at work also needs a balance, and Manuel makes a point of finding it. He loves spending his free time with his family, girlfriend, and friends. Soccer on Fridays, a game of tennis, cooking together, or just having coffee after work—little rituals like these help him clear his head.

At home with his girlfriend and during Friday soccer games, he finds the calm that also sets him apart at work. And it is precisely this composure—this patience drawn from his personal life—that he brings to his daily work. The calm you notice in him doesn’t just happen by chance.
