From Mixing Trial to the Optimal Mixing Process

Bonding plays a crucial role in achieving consistent visual quality and stable pigment distribution in powder coatings. In a recent internal trial, MIXACO successfully carried out a bonding process using a matte white base powder combined with aluminium effect pigments.

Before starting the trial, the bonding process parameters were carefully optimized and tested using the bonding software. This preparation ensured stable and reproducible process conditions for the subsequent bonding step.

The bonding process itself was performed in the HM 100 Bonding Mixer, which is specifically designed to achieve uniform and stable pigment bonding. Controlled thermo mechanical conditions allow the pigment particles to adhere reliably to the powder surface.

Homogeneous results through optimized process control

The trial delivered a highly homogeneous bonding result with an excellent distribution of aluminum effect pigments.

The optical appearance confirmed the effectiveness of the optimized software settings in combination with the proven MIXACO bonding technology.

Validation through application testing

To further verify the quality and consistency of the pigment distribution, the bonded powder was processed one step further. It was applied in the in house powder coating cabin using a spray gun.

The application confirmed a uniform appearance and a consistent visual effect, demonstrating that the bonding quality is maintained throughout the entire process chain, from mixing to final application.
