What do you have to watch out for when switching to automated mixing?

You still mix manually? That’s definitely easier. Visit us, bring your mixing material to our test center and we will show you the advantages of industrial mixing during a free test mixing. Industrial mixers make your processes more efficient and scalable.

What type of mixers are available?

There are, of course, a wide variety of industrial mixers for different applications. It depends on the particular material you want to mix. There are among others for example:

What mixer size is required?

This depends on the throughputs or batches you want to mix, e.g. hourly, daily or weekly. Since the weight of the mixed material depends on its density, the desired quantity is often specified in liters.

We will be happy to support you in calculating the optimum mixer size for your raw materials and quantities. You should also consider scalability – the mixer should be able to realize foreseeable production increases.

Can sensitive raw materials also be mixed?

This is an important question when switching from manual mixing to an industrial mixer. Manual mixing allows for gentle, sensitive mixing where you always have an eye on the consistency of the mixture – with automated mixing, you have to rely on the mixer to mix sensitive materials just as carefully and cautiously. These may be temperature-sensitive or fragile raw materials that break easily or cannot withstand large shear forces.

Thanks to our sophisticated mixing techniques and mixing tools, our mixers can perfectly mix even the most sensitive raw materials without damaging them. MIXACO offers e.g. with the Container Mixer Multitool a very flexible industrial mixer to homogenize sensitive raw materials without loss of quality.

Is it possible to mix different formulations in one mixer?

Yes, this is possible without further ado, but it depends on the recipe and involves cleaning effort. You can save your own mixing programs in the mixer control for each recipe.

How often does a mixer require maintenance?

This depends on the intensity of use. Basically, a mixer should be serviced at least once a year. Our service department will also be happy to help you with the procurement of spare parts and include you in a maintenance list. We will then check in with you regularly to see if everything is in order or if we can assist you. Cleanliness and cleaning should be at the top of the list of regular todos in order to be able to use the mixer for a long time and minimize wear.

Our usage-based maintenance guarantees minimal costs compared to standard maintenance contracts that are not based on how you use the mixer. In addition, our comprehensive remote maintenance reduces further costs.

Who helps when the mixer is defective?

Many of our mixers have been in use for over 30 years. Our well-proven and robust machine technology “Made in Germany” stands for durability and high reliability. Should our mixers nevertheless fail, our service team will help quickly and straightforwardly with 24/7 support.

How to operate the mixers?

You can operate our container mixers or the Speedy drum mixer with the aid of a local control system and, for example, save various mixing programs with different mixing parameters. The operation is simple, safe and intuitive and of course we train you in detail in the operation of our mixers.

Our stationary mixers without exchangeable containers are usually operated via a higher-level control system that is centrally integrated into a production process.

How is the cleaning of the mixers done?

Since there are a wide variety of products and ingredients, cleaning also varies in its demands. Our mixers are designed so that cleaning can be carried out as easily and quickly as possible to minimally interrupt processes. Our container mixers with exchangeable mixing containers are particularly effective – if you use two mixing containers, for example, you can already mix again while the other container is being emptied and cleaned.

How much does an industrial mixer cost?

Unfortunately, there is no general answer to this question. The price is highly dependent on the desired or also absolutely required options. The basic mixer prices start at around €25,000 depending on the type, design and accessories.
